Over Time I Got Tired

I entered politics for a joke, a bet.

I wanted to see if it was possible to bring new ideas and change the state of affairs.

I did politics even before, but for eight years, I did politics in the municipal buildings of my city.

I was the leader of my party, and I was a candidate for Mayor of my city, losing the ballot by a few hundred votes. After that, I continued for two more years, but eventually, I left.

Why? I wanted to change my life, first of all, but in particular, because I entered politics full of enthusiasm, with a great desire to do and change my city.

Still, over time I got tired.

I was exhausted even before I become a candidate as a Mayor. The frustration led me to an inner sadness so deep that I wanted to get away as soon as possible.

Eight years and in the end, I understood that politics is more connected to the influence that you can have on others and in politics, than on the ideals you carry and want to apply.

So I thought that the basis of my first election was that people were frustrated and angry with the previous political class. And for that reason, I was elected very easy.

So when I decided for the same reasons that I no longer wanted to do politics in my life, I understood that politics is definitely an evil beast.

More difficult and complicated than what is said in Social media.

In short, I wanted to change the world (or at least my city) like everyone. In the end, I found myself enormously disappointed to the point that I wanted to go away and change my life forever.

In the end, I concluded that seek what you want in life, but be careful what you wish for because it could become a reality and what will you do then?

This is the big challenge we have in the front of us every day.
